It holds nothing beyond the name of that search engine, lasts for up to one hour, and exists only so that a later click on an outbound link can be matched to the search engine that brought the visitor here. Separately, a session flag is kept in the browser for the current visit, with one purpose: making sure a single page view is only counted once. No other browser storage is used, and no persistent identifier is set.

Site Structure: Self-Contained Pages

Every file a page needs comes from this domain while it is being displayed — no outside host is contacted during that process.
